Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University set out to upgrade its classrooms, meeting spaces and auditorium across two buildings to an advanced, interactive AV level, so students and faculty could work together smoothly. Datacore delivered it in partnership with Arabian Computer Supplies (ARCOM).
Assigning wireless-microphone frequencies across more than 65 classrooms and meeting rooms in a two-storey building takes long-term planning. Digital signage had to run over the existing network, power and cabling had to reach an occupied building without disturbing finished interiors, and everything had to be ready before term restarted.
Classrooms received smart interactive displays with built-in OPS PCs, wireless head-worn and hand-held microphones and ceiling-array microphones for unified communications. The auditorium centres on a fine-pitch 2.5 mm LED video wall with recording and playback, a digital podium, motorised curtains and acoustic fit-out.
Digital signage is published centrally from a remote server across the building's lobbies, integrated with the university's existing Arabic-capable system.
